Jong Lee began his studies at Seoul National University of Science and Technology in 1993, with a concentration in mechanical engineering. He later joined the Korean Special Forces for a three-year military service term. Following his honorable discharge, Jong moved to California as an exchange student and earned a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, Sacramento, in 2001.
After graduation, Jong successfully established and operated businesses in real estate, working for many years as a real estate agent and residential appraiser. Inspired by his father's ambition to become an attorney—a dream that was unfulfilled due to health issues—Jong dedicated himself to achieving this goal. With strong support from his family, he enrolled in Northwestern California University School of Law, graduated in 2009, and passed the California Bar Exam on his first attempt.
Jong has also served immigrant communities by working with Church World Service in California, assisting Ukrainian and Afghan applicants seeking relief, and conducting community seminars on immigration procedures and available relief options.
In his spare time, Jong enjoys watching movies, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. He is also working on a book reflecting on his life journey, exploring philosophical themes, his relationship with God, and the meaning and purpose of life through a logical and thoughtful lens. Through this project, Jong delves into questions of existence, human nature, and the guiding principles shaped by faith and reason to better understand why we are here and how we can find fulfillment.
